The masthead for Lushan Bao inscribed by Mao Zedong.
[1] Lushan Bao was a newspaper founded in Lushan County. It began trial publication in March 1955 and was officially launched on December 14 of that year.
In 1958, Wen Xianglan, then serving as Party branch secretary of Liuzhuang Brigade, Zhangliang Township, Lushan County, was elected as a delegate to the Eighth National Congress of the Communist Party of China. That year, she went to Beijing to attend the congress. Entrusted by county leaders, she requested Mao Zedong to inscribe the masthead for Lushan Bao. During the congress, she submitted a note to Mao Zedong that read: "Please, Chairman Mao, write a masthead for our Lushan Bao." After the congress concluded, the congress secretariat delivered the masthead for Lushan Bao inscribed by Mao Zedong to Wen Xianglan.
