Telegrams of Congratulations from Mao Zedong et al. on the Fourteenth Anniversary of Albania’s Liberation
(November 28, 1958)

To Comrade Enver Hoxha, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Albanian Labor Party;
To Comrade Haxhi Lleshi, Chairman of the Presidium of the People’s Assembly of the People’s Republic of Albania;
To Comrade Mehmet Shehu, Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the People’s Republic of Albania:

On the occasion of the fourteenth anniversary of Albania’s liberation, on behalf of the Communist Party of China, the Government of the People’s Republic of China, and the Chinese people, we extend our warm, fraternal congratulations to the Albanian Labor Party, the Albanian government, and the Albanian people.

The hardworking and courageous Albanian people, with their glorious revolutionary traditions, have, over the past fourteen years, under the correct leadership of the Albanian Labor Party and the Government of the People’s Republic of Albania, achieved tremendous successes in the noble cause of building socialism and safeguarding peace in Europe and throughout the world. In the struggle against revisionism, the Albanian Labor Party, faithful to the principles of proletarian internationalism, has demonstrated an unwavering stance, contributing to the defense of the purity of Marxism-Leninism and to the consolidation of the unity of the socialist camp led by the Soviet Union. The Chinese people regard all the achievements of the Albanian people as their own and take great pride in them.

The fraternal friendship between the peoples of China and Albania is continuously developing and being strengthened. The Albanian government and people have provided vigorous support to the Chinese people in their struggle against the intensified military provocations and war threats posed by U.S. imperialism against our country. For this fraternal support, the Chinese people are deeply grateful.

We are firmly convinced that the fraternal friendship between the peoples of China and Albania, founded upon the principles of proletarian internationalism, will endure forever.

We wish the Albanian people new and even greater achievements in their struggle to build socialism and to safeguard world peace.

Mao Zedong, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and President of the People’s Republic of China
Liu Shaoqi, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China
Zhou Enlai, Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China
