Refers to the article “The Main Revisions and Additions to the Third Edition of the Textbook of Soviet Political Economy,” published in No. 139 of the CCP Central Committee’s Propaganda Department’s periodical “Propaganda and Education Briefing,” compiled and printed on November 15, 1958. The article outlines the additions and revisions made in the third edition of the Soviet textbook on political economy, as compared with the previous two editions, concerning such issues as the characterization of the basic economic law of socialism, the formulation of the law of planned and proportional development of the national economy, the discussion of commodity production and the law of value, as well as the non-antagonistic contradiction between value and use-value, the nature of the law of value’s operation under the socialist system, and questions related to material incentives and the principle of distribution according to work.
