Telegram on the Forty-First Anniversary
(November 6, 1958)
Comrade N. Khrushchev, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Soviet Union,
Comrade K. Voroshilov, Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Soviet Union:
On the occasion of the forty-first anniversary of the great October Socialist Revolution, the Chinese people, the Communist Party of China, and the Government of China extend to you, and through you to the great Soviet people, the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, and the Government of the Soviet Union, the most sincere and warmest congratulations.
For forty-one years, the immense influence of the October Revolution on human history has become more apparent with each passing day, and the new world opened up by the October Revolution has become more prosperous and powerful with each passing day. Since the meeting of representatives of the Communist and Workers' Parties of all countries in Moscow on the fortieth anniversary of the October Revolution last year and the publication of the declaration of historic significance, the world situation has undergone a great change. In the past year, the socialist camp headed by the Soviet Union has become more united and strong. The workers' movement in all countries has developed more broadly, the worldwide movement to defend peace, oppose war, strive for national independence, and oppose colonial rule has surged to an unprecedented height, while the aggressive forces headed by U.S. imperialism are at the end of their tether. The people of the whole world clearly see that the East wind is further prevailing over the West wind. The life of imperialism will certainly not be very long.
The Soviet people, under the leadership of the great Communist Party of the Soviet Union, are advancing with great strides on the road of communist construction. The brilliant achievements obtained by the Soviet people in their magnificent cause of construction have enabled the laboring people of all countries to see their own happy tomorrow. The Chinese people warmly congratulate the fraternal Soviet people on their labor achievements and feel as joyful and inspired as if they were seeing their own achievements.
The Chinese people and the Soviet people have a profound friendship as close as brothers. The talks between the leaders of China and the Soviet Union in August of this year were an important sign of the further strengthening of this friendship. The Soviet people have consistently given generous assistance to the Chinese people's cause of construction. In the struggle against the occupation of China's territory Taiwan and the Taiwan Strait by U.S. imperialism, the Chinese people have received the powerful support of the Soviet people. The Chinese people express their deep gratitude for this. The Chinese people are determined to persevere in the struggle together with the Soviet people to safeguard peace in the Far East and the world. We strive for peace, but we are by no means afraid of war. If the imperialists dare to impose war on us, it will only accelerate their complete demise!
Long live the great October Socialist Revolution!
Long live the unbreakable friendship of the socialist camp headed by the Soviet Union!
Long live the great internationalism of Marxism-Leninism!
