Dong Biwu, then a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, was leading a delegation from the CPC Central Committee to attend the Fifth National Congress of the Socialist Unity Party of Germany.

Members of agricultural cooperatives, during Party meetings, ably analyzed their work from the standpoint of dialectical materialism and shared experiences on how to apply dialectics in practice.” Mao Zedong underlined this passage with a wavy line and wrote “Pay attention” beside it.
