Letter to Chen Yuying [1] (February 11, 1958) Comrade Yuying: I have received your letters several times. This time I saw Peijun [2], who said she does not intend to work for the time being but will continue her studies; we can discuss employment again at a later date. I think this is a good idea, so I advised her to return to Changsha. She is still young, and it would be beneficial for her to devote some time to her studies at present. I am sending two hundred yuan with her; any additional funds needed will be arranged separately. Best wishes! Mao Zedong February 11, 1958 Printed from the manuscript. Notes [1] Chen Yuying served as a nanny in the homes of Mao Zedong and Yang Kaihui from 1926 to 1931. [2] Peijun refers to Sun Peijun, Chen Yuying’s daughter.
