Letter to Chen Yunchuan
(September 16, 1957)

Comrade Chen Yun:

I have received your letter of August 28. I am not familiar with your father’s date of入党 and his work history, as I was not in Hunan at that time. I am very pleased to learn that you are working hard and assisting your mother in her medical treatment. Please convey my regards to your mother and ask after her well-being.
