Guo Moruo’s Remarks in an Interview with a Guangming Daily Reporter

Please have the People’s Daily reprint this piece by Guo Moruo⑶ in its entirety, and have Xinhua News Agency broadcast it in full.

[1] Qiao Mu refers to Hu Qiaomu, who at that time served as an alternate member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee and as Mao Zedong’s secretary.
[2] This refers to remarks made by Guo Moruo, President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, to a Guangming Daily reporter regarding the campaign against the rightists, entitled “Clearing Away the Clouds to Reveal the Blue Sky.” It was published in the June 28, 1957 issue of Guangming Daily.
⑵ When the People’s Daily reprinted Guo Moruo’s speech on June 29, 1957, the title was changed to “The Dark Clouds Have Dispersed; the Sun Shines Even More Brilliantly—Guo Moruo on the Anti-Rightist Struggle.”
