Dear Dalai Lama:
I have received the telegram you sent me on May 23. Thank you.
In the six years since the peaceful liberation of Tibet, under your and Panchen Erdini’s⑶ leadership, much work has been done for the great cause of consolidating the unification of the motherland and strengthening national unity, and important contributions have been made. It is hoped that you will continue to strive, unite the forces of all strata and all aspects in Tibet, adopt practical and feasible steps, and further implement the Agreement on Measures for the Peaceful Liberation of Tibet, so as to make Tibet more united, progressive, and developed.
I wish you good health!
Mao Zedong
