addressed to King Muhammad Sahir Shah.

On the occasion of the Independence Day of the Kingdom of Afghanistan, on
behalf of the people and government of China and on my own behalf, I extend my
sincere congratulations to Your Majesty and to the people of Afghanistan.

We are happy to see that the friendly relations between China and Afghanistan
have already developed in the last year. We are confident that such friendly
relations will surely be consolidated continuously and will be strengthened from
now on through the common efforts of both sides. May the country of Afghanistan
prosper, may the people of Afghanistan be happy, and may Your Majesty enjoy
good health.
