Your conference has been held very well. I hope you will unite and serve as the leading core for the nation's youth.

The Communist Party of China is the leading core of the entire Chinese people. Without such a core, the socialist cause cannot achieve victory.

Your conference is one of unity and will have a great impact on the youth across China. I extend my congratulations to you.

Comrades, unite and strive resolutely and courageously for the great cause of socialism! All words and deeds that deviate from socialism are entirely wrong.

One must be a person who can stand firm and tall—standing firm means being able to grasp Marxism-Leninism, standing high and seeing far; standing tall means having a solid foundation among the masses and integrating with them.

[1] The Third National Congress of the New Democratic Youth League of China, held from May 15 to 25, 1957, decided to change the name of the league to the Communist Youth League of China. This is part of Mao Zedong's speech when meeting the delegates at the congress.
