Speeches During the Visit to China [I]
(April 8 and 9, 1957)
Chairman Mao Zedong delivered a speech at a banquet, extending a warm welcome to the delegation of the Government of the Polish People’s Republic, headed by Chairman Cyrankiewicz.
Chairman Mao said that Poland is a country with deep friendship with China and that Poland is a member of the socialist camp. The friendship between China and Poland is growing stronger day by day. He wished Poland all the best, called for ever closer unity among the socialist countries, and expressed his hope that the friendship between China and Poland would continue to flourish.
Chairman Mao raised his glass to wish good health to all members of the delegation, to First Secretary of the Polish United Workers’ Party, Comrade Gomułka, and to Chairman of the State Council of Poland, Comrade Szawarski.
