Letter to Yang Kaiying [1] (December 16, 1956) Comrade Kaiying: I received your letter a long time ago and was very pleased. I delayed replying, and later I could no longer find your address. Recently, Mao Shimai [2] and others came to see me. They told me that you are serving as the head of academic affairs at the Yuying Middle School in Dalian, and also that you are still suffering from pulmonary disease, which has been much on my mind. I am sending you a small sum of money for medical expenses. If you should need anything further, please do not hesitate to let me know. My own health remains fairly good. I am still in touch with Madam Yang [3], as well as with Mr. and Mrs. Yang Kazi—Mr. Yang Kai-zhi and his wife Li Chongde [4]. When you have a chance, I would be grateful if you could inform me of your situation. Best wishes! Mao Zedong December 16, 1956 Printed from the manuscript.
