To His Majesty King Mahendra of Nepal in Kathmandu:
On the occasion of the signing of the Sino-Nepalese Agreement, and in response to Your Majesty’s congratulatory message, I, on behalf of the People’s Republic of China and the Chinese people, as well as in my own name, express our heartfelt gratitude to Your Majesty, to the Government and to the people of the Kingdom of Nepal. May the traditional friendship between the peoples of China and Nepal be further consolidated and developed on the basis of this agreement, which is concluded in accordance with the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence.
