...Do you believe that the atomic bomb is no more powerful than swords and spears? In ancient times, people fought with swords and spears for hundreds of years. During the Han Dynasty, China’s population was 50 million, but after the wars, only 10 million remained. In the Tang Dynasty, it grew back to 50 million, but after An Lushan’s rebellion, it dropped again to just over 10 million. Wars fought with cold weapons dragged on for a long time and caused massive casualties. Vast stretches of land were left uninhabited, and similar situations may have occurred in European history. Later, starting from the Napoleonic era, rifles were developed that could shoot 800 meters, and then cannons were developed, leading to wars fought with hot weapons. We have not tested the atomic bomb, but we can do some calculations: the world population is 2.5 billion. Even if the atomic bomb killed half, there would still be over 1 billion people left—fewer deaths than in the past when cold weapons were used. China has a population of 600 million. If the atomic bomb killed half, there would still be 300 million people, and in twenty or thirty years, the population would recover.

...In every nation, there are always bad people. It is impossible to imagine a situation where there are only good people. This will still be the case ten thousand years from now. Therefore, ten thousand years from now, the stage will still feature good people and bad people. If there were no bad people, no conflicts and contradictions between good and bad, then there would be no drama to watch.
