Letter to Liu Songlin [1] (August 6, 1955) Siqi’er: I have received your letter.
You are suffering from a severe cold; please rest well and regain your strength so that you will be fit to go abroad.
If you are feeling better today, I would like you to come over for a visit; otherwise, do not bother.
The most important thing is to prove yourself and to study hard so that you may serve the country.
Best wishes!
Father’s signature August 6, 1955 I am sending you the two volumes of the Selected Works of Lenin that you requested.
They were printed from Mao Zedong’s manuscript.

In 1950, Mao Anying was killed in action during the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea.
At this time, Liu Songlin was preparing to study in the Soviet Union.
