[I] Mao Zedong’s two comments on the establishment of Party supervisory committees in the army. The first was written on the report submitted by Peng Dehuai, Member of the Central Military Commission of the CPC Central Committee, Vice Premier of the State Council, and Minister of National Defense, on July 12, 1955, proposing the establishment of the Supervisory Committee of the People’s Liberation Army of the Communist Party of China, addressed to Mao Zedong, Liu Shaoqi, and the Central Committee. The second was written on the report submitted by the Central Military Commission of the CPC Central Committee on August 22, 1955, to Mao Zedong, Liu Shaoqi, and the Central Committee, submitting for review the draft notice of the General Political Department on establishing Party supervisory committees at all levels in the army.
