Letter to Liu Shaoqi
(June 23, 1955)
Comrade Shaoqi:

At today’s Political Bureau meeting to discuss the Shandong issue, please consider inviting Comrades An Ziwen, Qian Ying, and Liu Jingfan [1] to attend the meeting and listen to Comrade Chen Yi’s report (first send them copies of Chen Yi’s written report and concluding speech for their perusal). Since this issue was once closely related to them, it is appropriate that they be informed of the Central Committee’s decision. Please deliberate and decide.

June 23, 3 a.m.

If Comrade Shaoqi is already asleep, then deliver this in the morning to Comrade Shangkun [2].

Also:

If Comrade Shu Tong [3] is in Beijing, it seems appropriate to also invite him to the meeting.
