Telegram to the Republic of Czechoslovakia
(May 7, 1955)

Comrade Viliam Siroky, Prime Minister of the Republic of Czechoslovakia:

On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the achievement of liberation by
the Czechoslovakian people, the government of the People’s Republic of
China and the Chinese people extend to the government of the Republic of
Czechoslovakia and the Czechoslovakian people their warm and heartfelt congratulations.

Over the past ten years, the Czechoslovakian people, under the correct
leadership of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia and the government of
the Republic of Czechoslovakia and with the selfless help rendered by the
Soviet Union, have made brilliant achievements in the area of consolidating
the political power of the people's democracy and laying the foundation for
the construction of socialism. These achievements add to the strength of the
World camp of peace, democracy, and socialism headed by the Soviet Union
and lend great encouragement to the Chinese people who are in the midst of
Pursuing socialist construction.

Currently the imperialist aggressive bloc is sparing no effort to carry into

effect the Paris Agreement! and is actively reviving German militarism
forcing the people of Europe and of the entire world to confront the
new war, The Chinese people fully support all necessary measures taken 4

the Soviet Union is bound to smash the imperialists’ war plans.
We wish the Czechoslovakian people still greater triumphs in their Case,
building socialism and defending peace. ..
