Marginal Note on the Letter from Jiang Huang Zuying
(May 1955)

It seems possible to consider providing some assistance. Comrade Xu Bing[121] of the United Front Work Department is to handle this matter. Luo Mai[131] knows Jiang Jihuan’s character.

Jiang Huang Zuying engaged in primary school education work in her early years and was the wife of Jiang Jihuan. Jiang Jihuan became acquainted with Mao Zedong in the 1920s, participated in the Nanchang Uprising of August 1, 1927, later went to Japan, and died of illness in 1935.
On April 27, 1955, Jiang Huang Zuying wrote a letter to Mao Zedong stating that she was already sixty years old, living in hardship, and requesting help in arranging a job for her. She was later appointed as a member of the Jiangsu Provincial Research Institute of Culture and History.
