Letter to Wen Bingzhang[1]
(May 1, 1955)

Comrade Bingzhang:

Your letter of February 15 has been received. You may go to find Mao Zerong (Xunwu) and Mao Xianmei,[2] the two of them, and come to Beijing for a visit together with them, bearing this letter as proof. No other persons are to come. Please relay to Comrades Wen Meiqing and Wen Dongxian[3] that their letters to me have been received, that I cannot resolve their problems, and that they are not to come to Beijing. As for those from the Shaoshan area who wish to come, except for Zerong and Xianmei, who may come, none of the others may come. Give my regards to your mother and all friends!
