Letter to Zhang Zhijiang[I]
(February 11, 1955)

Commissioner Zhijiang:

Your esteemed letter was received long ago. I originally intended to invite you for a discussion, but procrastination prevented it from happening. Upon recent inquiry, I learned that you have already returned to Shanghai, so I can only wait for a future occasion.

You are ardently patriotic. If you have any views, I still hope you will favor me with your guidance at any time.

With salutations,

Mao Zedong
