Letter to Huang Yanpei [1]
(November 23, 1954)
Mr. Renzhi:

Your kind letter of October 30 has been received. As for the matter of grain procurement, what I have heard in Beijing is just as you described.

When I came to Guangzhou, I conducted investigations along the way and found that problems still exist, though the overall situation remains fairly good—indeed, it is said to be much better than last year. Regarding the remaining cases from the “Five-Anti” Campaign, I have already brought them to the attention of Vice Premier Chen Yun.

I am very concerned about your health. Please continue to take good care of yourself. With this, I reply.

Respectfully yours,

Mao Zedong
