To Comrade Kim Il-sung, Premier of the Cabinet of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea:
To Comrade Nam Il, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea:

On the occasion of the first anniversary of the signing of the Sino-Korean Agreement on Economic and Cultural Cooperation, we extend our warm congratulations to the Korean people, the Government of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, and to you. The signing and implementation of this agreement have further consolidated and developed the militant friendship forged between the peoples of China and Korea in the war of shoulder-to-shoulder resistance against the U.S. aggressors.

The Chinese people, with feelings of admiration and joy, congratulate the Korean people on the brilliant achievements they have obtained in implementing the three-year plan for the restoration and development of the national economy. The unremitting struggle waged by the Korean people and the Government of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea to strive for the peaceful unification of Korea has always been a matter of deep concern and sympathy for the Chinese people and the Chinese government.

The Korean question must be resolved under the principles of respecting the national rights of the Korean people and of being conducive to safeguarding peace in Asia and the world. The Chinese people will continue to fully support this just cause of the Korean people until final victory.

Long live the fraternal and ever-consolidating friendship between the peoples of China and Korea!
