Inscriptions for the Exhibition of Achievements in the Soviet Union’s Economic and Cultural Construction Chuan
(October 25, 1954)
After visiting the Exhibition of Achievements in the Soviet Union’s Economic and Cultural Construction, we felt deeply satisfied and greatly delighted. This exhibition has vividly demonstrated, with concrete evidence, the rapid development of the Soviet Union’s industrial and agricultural economies, the high level of advancement in its scientific and technological fields, the flourishing of its educational, cultural, and artistic endeavors, and the happy lives of the Soviet people. Through all of this, the exhibition also clearly illustrates the boundless enthusiasm and creativity displayed by the Soviet people in their labor; it highlights the unity of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, the Soviet government, and all the peoples of the Soviet Union; and it confirms the correctness of the leadership of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. We take pride in having such a powerful ally. The strength of the Soviet Union is an important condition for the general upsurge of economy and culture among the countries of the peace-and-democracy camp, as well as for the cause of world peace and human progress.
The glorious achievements of the Soviet Union in economic and cultural construction have greatly inspired the Chinese people’s enthusiasm for building socialism and provided them with the finest model to emulate. The Soviet government and the Soviet people have consistently extended extensive assistance to us in various aspects of our own construction efforts. This assistance has been further expanded through the recent Sino-Soviet talks, and the very holding of the Exhibition of Achievements in the Soviet Union’s Economic and Cultural Construction itself constitutes another manifestation of the Soviet Union’s warm and heartfelt support for our country.
