Refers to the report dated June 30, 1954, from the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee’s East China Bureau to the CPC Central Committee’s United Front Work Department and the East China Bureau, with copies sent to the United Front Work Departments of the provincial and municipal Party committees, concerning the convening of a symposium with non-Party figures. The report outlined the discussions held at the symposium on such matters as the public release of the draft Constitution, the convocation of the National People’s Congress, and the abolition of the major administrative regions.
