(May 28, 1954)
To Messrs. Katchalia and Mistry, Joint Honorary Secretaries of the South African Indian Congress:
On behalf of the Chinese people, I fully support the just cause of South Africa’s non-white population—including Indians as well as other Asian and African peoples—in their struggle for democratic rights and against racial discrimination and oppression. I wish your congress every success in its endeavor to unite Indians and all South Africans, both white and non-white, in the pursuit of peace, freedom, democracy, and progress.
