Mr. Dalai Lama:

Thank you for your letter and gift of August 1 last year. After liberation, you have done many things in Xizang that are beneficial to the country and the Xizang nationality, which is very good. Just as your letter says, in order to make the monastic and lay people of Xizang understand the new motherland even more, and in order to daily consolidate and strengthen the unity of the Han and Zang nationalities, it is indeed very good that some people from Xizang come to the interior to visit each year. In addition to this, Xizang can also select and send some young people to the interior to study for short or long terms, so as to better cultivate nationality cadres for the construction of Xizang.

Enclosed with this letter are two milk separators, one sound amplifier, and one dual-use radio receiver. I wish you good health.
