(1953)
(1) The founding of the People’s Republic of China on October 1, 1949, marked the thorough victory of the bourgeois-democratic revolution against imperialism, feudalism, and bureaucrat-capitalism, based on the worker-peasant alliance and under the leadership of the working class. This revolution, counting from the day of the founding of the Communist Party of China, went through twenty-eight years and finally, after the end of the Second World War, achieved victory owing to the changes in the world situation and the domestic situation, the correctness of the leadership of the Communist Party of China, and the support of the international revolutionary forces headed by the Soviet Union. This is the third great victory following the victory of the October Socialist Revolution in the Soviet Union and the victory of the Second World War. The victory of the October Revolution in the Soviet Union brought into being the world’s first socialist state. The victory of the Second World War brought into being many people’s democratic states. The victory of the Chinese revolution changed the situation in the Eastern world. These three victories created a powerful political and economic camp of socialism and democracy with a population of over 800 million, headed by the Soviet Union, while the capitalist camp has been greatly weakened. As Comrade Stalin pointed out, because of various insurmountable contradictions within the capitalist world, the capitalist camp is not consolidated; after a period of time, it will inevitably split and come into conflict, and may even lead to wars among the capitalist countries, whereas the socialist and democratic camp will assist one another in unity, grow increasingly prosperous, increasingly powerful, and increasingly consolidated.
