TELEGRAM TO J. V. STALIN EST CELEBRATION
OF THE SEVENTH ANNIVERSARY OF
VICTORY IN THE WAR OF RESISTANCE
AGAINST JAPAN
(September 2, 1952)
To Generalissimo Stalin:
On the occasion of the seventh anniversary of victory in the War of
Resistance Against Japan, please accept the warm congratulations and heartfelt
thanks of myself, the Chinese People's Liberation Army and the entire people of
China to you and to the armed forces and people of the Soviet Union.
The Soviet Union rendered great assistance to the Chinese people in the War
of Resistance Against Japan, and by annihilating the Japanese Kwantung Army,
which was the main force of Japan, the Soviet armed forces helped the Chinese
people win final victory in the War of Resistance. The fraternal assistance
extended to the Chinese people by the Soviet Union in the course of China's
rehabilitation and reconstruction has helped the speedy consolidation and growth
of the strength of the Chinese people.
Now, at a time when Japanese militarism is being revived and Japanese forces
of aggression are reemerging, the unbreakable friendly alliance between China
and the Soviet Union is a powerful guarantee for deterring new aggression by
Japan and any other countries colluding with Japan in acts of aggression and for
safeguarding peace in the East and the world as a whole.
Long live the unbreakable and great friendship between the People's Repub-lic of China and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics!
Mao Zedong
Chairman of the Central People's Government
of the People's Republic of China
