Added Remarks on the Draft of the Central Committee’s Directive Transmitting the East China Bureau’s Instructions on Judicial Reform Work
(August 4, 1952)

Since the start of the Three-Antis Campaign, the Central Committee has issued numerous telegrams for the comprehensive reform of judicial work. However, apart from the East China region, responses from other localities have been scarce. Many places have neither reported on the implementation status nor raised any differing opinions, adopting an attitude of indifference. This is highly inappropriate. The previous orders are hereby reiterated, and it is expected that reports will be submitted within the prescribed time limit.〔1〕

〔1〕 The directive issued by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on August 4, 1952, transmitting the East China Bureau’s instructions on judicial reform work, stipulated that all Party committees at the provincial, municipal, and regional levels and above that had not yet submitted reports on judicial reform work to the Central Committee must submit their first report on the work plan and implementation status of judicial reform to the Central Committee by September.
