Letter to Mao Zelien [1]
(June 23, 1952)

Dear Younger Brother Runfa:

I have received your letter of May 8.

I am very concerned that your eye and foot ailments have not yet improved. It is still best for you to remain at home and continue your treatment; there is no need for you to come to Beijing.

Since Xiangya Hospital has been unable to diagnose and treat your condition effectively, it is unlikely that Beijing would fare any better.

This serves as my reply.
