Mao Zedong June 21st Printed from the manuscript. Notes [ ] This commentary was written on a report submitted to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on June 18, 1952, by Zhong Qingfa, Chargé d’Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia. Zhong’s report stated that the official request from the United States inviting Indonesia to inspect the U.S. prisoner-of-war camp on Geoje Island had been delivered to the Indonesian government on June 14th. On June 18th, during a discussion with him on trade matters, the Indonesian Foreign Minister inquired about the Chinese government’s reaction to the U.S. invitation extended to Indonesia and four other nations to visit the aforementioned camp. Accordingly, Zhong suggested that our government should issue a solemn statement on this matter.
