Brother XX:

I have received both your two letters and the enclosed second part of your commentary on "On Practice." Thank you! I have also seen the first part of the commentary in a publication. This commentary is excellent and will be of great use in popularizing materialism in plain language. After your third part is written and published, it should be issued as a separate volume for wide circulation. There is a small revision on the two pages in the second part that discuss imperialism, dogmatism, and empiricism; please consider it. If it has already been published, please make the correction when printing the separate volume.

Regarding the popularization of dialectical materialism, too little has been done in the past, failing to meet the urgent hopes of the broad cadres and young students. I hope you will write many more articles.

With best regards,

Mao Zedong

In "On Practice," it is inappropriate to mention the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom alongside xenophobia. I intend to revise this when the selected works are published, but for now, it remains as it was.
