At the time, he served as a member of the Central People’s Government and a member of the Standing Committee of the First National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. [2] This comment by Mao Zedong was written on a telegram sent by Xinhua News Agency’s Fujian Branch to its headquarters. The telegram stated that U.S.-Kuomintang agents had recently planned to assassinate Chen Jiageng in order to frame our side and sabotage the Five-Anti Campaign.
