Commentary on the East China Military Region’s Report on Capturing Tigers (February 10, 1952) To the Party Committees of All Military Regions and the Chinese People’s Volunteers, and to All Central Bureaus: The East China Military Region reported on February 7 that it planned to capture one thousand large tigers and three thousand small tigers, setting five-day mini-deadlines and ten-day major deadlines for units to submit reports, with very strict supervision and accountability. At the February 5 mini-deadline, the region tallied 108 large tigers and 649 small tigers captured, and more than 97,000 petty corrupt elements were exposed and dealt with. It is hoped that all military regions will learn from the East China Military Region and rigorously criticize right-leaning opportunist elements. Mao Zedong February 10 Printed from the manuscript.
