Central Committee's Comment Transmitted with the Southwest Bureau's Report on the Issue of Ideological Reform of School Teachers
(December 24, 1951)
To all Central Bureaus:
The report by the Southwest Bureau is very good and is hereby transmitted to you for reference. It may be published in internal Party journals. The Central Committee hopes that the three major regions of East China, Central-South China, and Northwest China will, at an appropriate time and with due preparation, convene a large-scale conference on the ideological reform of school teachers. During the conference, following the methods used in the Southwest, carry out criticism and self-criticism to advance the ideological reform work of teachers and educational administrative personnel in universities, secondary schools, and primary schools. Whether North China and Northeast China still need to hold such conferences should also be considered by the North China Bureau and the Northeast Bureau.
