[I] Lei Han, a renowned professor in the Department of Physics at Beijing Normal University, a physical chemist and electrical scientist. After participating in the parade celebrating the second anniversary of the founding of New China, he was so overwhelmed with emotion that he could not sleep at night. On October 8, he took up his pen to write a letter to Chairman Mao, reporting on his thoughts, work, and health over the past two years. This is Mao Zedong's reply to Lei Han.
