This is Mao Zedong’s comment on the report of August 27, 1951, by Xiao Hua, Deputy Director of the General Political Department of the People’s Revolutionary Military Commission of the Central People’s Government.

Xiao Hua’s report stated: October 25 marks the first anniversary of the Chinese People’s Volunteers’ entry into Korea for combat. The Political Department of the Chinese People’s Volunteers sent a telegram on August 18 proposing whether this date could be designated as the Commemorative Day for the Chinese People’s Volunteers’ War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea, with various commemorative activities to be held. We agree.
