Telegram to Li Kenong [2] Regarding the Revised Draft of the Reply to Ridgway [1] for Dispatch and Broadcast (July 14, 1951)  Kenong: Your message of 10:30 p.m. on July 13 [3] has been received.
I will send it to you after it has been revised.
Upon receipt of the revised draft, you may transmit it to the other side.
The Beijing broadcast is scheduled for around 8:00 p.m., or 20:00 hours, on July 14.

Notes  [1] Ridgway was at that time the Commander-in-Chief of the “United Nations Command,” succeeding MacArthur in command of the Korean War.  [2] Li Kenong was then Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Central People’s Government.  [3] Refers to the draft reply to Ridgway, to be issued in the names of Kim Il-sung, Supreme Commander of the Korean People’s Army, and Peng Dehuai, Commander of the Chinese People’s Volunteers.
