Mao Zedong
July 9
Our front-line forces must boost morale, continue to fight bravely, and must not slacken in the slightest. They must not make plans based on the assumption that peace can be achieved this time; rather, they should make plans based on the assumption that peace cannot be achieved this time, that fighting must continue, that the enemy must still be subjected to massive attrition and annihilation, and only then can peace be achieved. Only if we make such plans will it be beneficial to the struggle for final victory; otherwise, it will not be beneficial.
