Comments on the Guangdong Military Region Party Committee’s Self-Criticism Report Regarding Implementation of the Central Government’s Directive on Suppressing Counter-Revolutionaries (May 10, 1951) To the Party Committees of the Major Military Regions, with copies forwarded to the Party Committees of the Provincial Military Regions and those of the Administrative Office Military Regions: Up to the present day, there have been very few reports submitted by the Party Committees of the provincial and administrative office military regions to the Military Commission concerning their work in suppressing counter-revolutionaries.
We hereby require that each regional-level military region (including the administrative office [military] regions) must uniformly submit such a report to the Military Commission once; all submissions are to be completed no later than July 1. The directors of political departments of the major military regions shall be responsible for supervising this matter.
Those who fail to submit their reports by the deadline will be publicly criticized in a circular order.
Attached is the report of the Guangdong Military Region Party Committee.
This report exposes many extremely serious problems and demonstrates a conscientious and responsible approach to addressing its own shortcomings.
It is therefore circulated for your reference and is hereby commended through a circular order.
