Letter to Mao Yuju
(April 5, 1951)
Brother Yuju:
All your previous letters and the recent long letter have been received, for which I am very grateful. Your concern in various matters fully demonstrates your kind intentions. However, some of the content in the Anecdotes [1] is not quite suitable, and it seems better not to print it. The original manuscript is hereby returned.
With renewed regards and wishes for your well-being and prosperity!
Please convey my greetings to our fellow villagers when convenient.
Mao Zedong
April 5

[1] Refers to *Anecdotes of Chairman Mao* written by Mao Yuju. The text recounts some episodes from Mao Zedong's youth, including his love for labor, his concern for the hardships of the peasants, and his diligent study.
