Telephone Draft Regarding the Broadcast of Speeches by Xu Jianguo [1] et al. at the Tianjin Campaign to Suppress Counterrevolutionaries (March 31, 1951)  Telephoned Qiaomu [2]: To broadcast the full text of Xu Jianguo’s report at the meeting to suppress counterrevolutionaries as published in the Tianjin newspapers on March 30, the full text of Huang Jing’s [3] concluding remarks, and Wang Shuyun’s [4] accusation—using the version from the Progressive Daily—as well as to prepare a news item reporting on the proceedings of this meeting in Tianjin.

Notes:  [1] Xu Jianguo was then Procurator-General of the Tianjin Municipal People’s Procuratorate and Director of the Public Security Bureau.  [2] Qiaomu refers to Hu Qiaomu, who at the time served as Deputy Minister of the CPC Central Committee’s Propaganda Department and Director of the General Administration of Press and Publications of the Central People’s Government.  [3] Huang Jing was then Mayor of the Tianjin Municipal People’s Government.  [4] Wang Shuyun was the sister of two porters, Wang Shiying and Wang Shiming, who had been persecuted to death by local tyrants.
