Telegram to Deng Xiaoping\[1\] on Work Experience
(January 30, 1951)

Comrade Xiaoping:
This document\[2\] is quite good. I do not know whether the Northwest Bureau has issued it to you. If not, you may take a look, and please pass it on to the comrades of the 18th Army and draw their attention to the experience of Yushu.

Deng Xiaoping, then First Secretary of the Southwest Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Political Commissar of the Southwest Military Region of the People’s Liberation Army.

Refers to the report on carrying out medical and trade work in minority nationality areas submitted by the Yushu Prefectural Committee, which the CPC Qinghai Provincial Committee forwarded to the Northwest Bureau on January 12, 1951. The Qinghai Provincial Committee pointed out: The report of the Yushu Prefectural Committee proves that carrying out medical and trade work in the minority nationality areas of Qinghai is a very good way of getting close to the masses and maintaining ties with them, and greater importance should be attached to it in the future.
