Telegram from the Central Military Commission Inquiring About the Material Preparations of the 18th Army for Entering Tibet
(January 29, 1951)

Southwest Military Region:
You have presumably already received the telegram sent to you by the Northwest Military Region on January 24. Regarding the more than twenty types of items listed in the second item of that telegram, which the troops entering Tibet must carry—such as leather coats, leather hats, tents, cooking pots, water buckets, black alum, garlic, feed bags, and ox ropes—please check and report whether the 18th Army has already completed preparations.
