Telegram of Congratulations on the Thirtieth Anniversary of the Founding of the Italian Communist Party
(January 21, 1951)

Comrade Longo [1] and all comrades of the Central Committee of the Italian Communist Party:

On the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of the founding of the Italian Communist Party, we extend our warm congratulations to you.

The Italian Communist Party has achieved tremendous successes in the past struggle against fascism, as well as in the present struggle against the United States’ plans of aggression and war and for a people’s democratic Italy, thereby making itself the core of the entire Italian working class and all Italian patriots.

We firmly believe that your just cause, under the correct leadership of Comrade Togliatti [2] and the Central Committee of the Italian Communist Party, will surely win final victory.

Mao Zedong
Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China
