Amendment to Our Statement on the United Nations General Assembly Resolution on the "Three-Member Committee for a Korean Armistice"
(December 22, 1950)

The Central People's Government of the People's Republic of China solemnly declares: The Chinese people earnestly hope that the Korean war can be resolved peacefully. We insist that the withdrawal of all foreign troops from Korea and the resolution of Korea’s internal affairs by the Korean people themselves serve as the basis for negotiations on the peaceful settlement of the Korean issue. The U.S. aggressor forces must withdraw from Taiwan, and the representatives of the People's Republic of China must obtain their legitimate status in the United Nations. These points are not only the just demands of the Chinese and Korean peoples but also the urgent aspirations of all progressive public opinion worldwide. A peaceful resolution of the Korean issue and other major Asian issues is impossible without these points.
