Main Forces on the Western Front Should Prepare to Continue Operations [1]
(December 2, 1950)
To Peng, Deng, Park, Hong, and Xie, and inform Gao and He [121]:
Your telegram of the 1st [No. 131] received. If the enemy in the Anju–Sinanju area has indeed withdrawn south of Sukchon, then our main forces on the western front should adjust their positions north of the Sukchon–Sunchon line, rest for four to five days, reorganize their units, replenish food and ammunition, and prepare to continue operations in coordination with the eastern front to expand the results of battle. If there are still enemy forces in the Anju–Sinanju area, we should first wipe out that enemy before making adjustments. Our 42nd Army should halt only after destroying the enemy at Sinchang-ri. It would be advisable to observe the situation for another day or two before issuing the adjustment order.
