The Situation on the Korean Battlefield Can Be Turned Around [I]
(November 13, 1950)
From my observation, the war situation in Korea can be turned around. On the northwestern front, our sixteen volunteer army divisions have already dealt the enemy the first blow and have initially gained a firm foothold. If we can deliver one or two more major blows to the enemy (eight divisions) on this front, we will be able to transform the defensive situation there into an offensive one, and this is entirely possible. On the northeastern front, our volunteer army has only two divisions, and the enemy (five divisions) is still running rampant. We are now sending eight additional divisions to deliver a blow to the enemy and turn the situation around on that front.
